GETTING HERE
Make the most of your trip to the Sweet Days Hot Nights Festival and explore the Burdekin.
The Burdekin is an easy one hour drive south of Townsville, two hour drive east of Charters Towers and three hour drive north of Mackay. Our smaller communities surrounding Ayr and Home Hill can be easily accessed by road and are clearly signposted from the Bruce Highway. Self-drive is a popular choice for travel in Queensland giving you the flexibility and accessibility to see it all.
Coach services connect to both Ayr and Home Hill daily and provide north and southbound services. For more information on services available and to make a booking, visit www.premierms.com.au or www.greyhound.com.au.
The closest commercial airport is located in Townsville and offers both domestic and international flight services. The Townsville Airport also offers long-term and short stay parking facilities and car rental outlets are on site.
Queensland Rail’s Spirit of Queensland services Ayr, Home Hill and Giru five times per week. Services run north on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and south on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. For more information visit queenslandrailtravel.com.au.
